Soft Structured Carriers (SSC) are generally softly structured, with thick materials and padding in the shoulders and a definite hip structure. Closures, such as on the waist and shoulder straps, are usually adjustable and fasten with clips.
Common Brands:
Advantages:
Dads love SSC; comfortable for long treks through the forest or the mall; provides excellent weight distribution; sporty looking; durable; can carry heavier wright children; washable; easy to get on and off; can be worn in multiple positions.
Disadvantages:
Bulky so cannot be thrown in a diaper bag; can be hot in warm weather; awkward to nurse in; pricey; most brands must be ordered online increasing the cost.
