Riverside-area man amasses thousands of files alleging abuse by Scientologists

Francois Choquette

After a two-year investigation, a Lake Elsinore man has issued a press release alleging a host of abuses at the international headquarters of Scientology, including violations of child-labor laws, incarcerations, and human trafficking.

Francois Choquette, who is a member of the Inland Atheists, Agnostics and Skeptics in Riverside,  said local elected officials and law enforcement agencies have been slow to investigate hundreds of eyewitness allegations of human rights violations, physical abuse and neglect. He is calling for official investigations by the Riverside County Sheriff, District Attorney, Board of Supervisors, state Attorney General and the FBI.

(Spokesmen for Scientology have consistently denied any accusations of abuses or other irregularities by their organization.)

Choquette began his research after free speech protests in 2008 at the organization's so-called "Gold Base" on Gilman Hot Springs Road, near Hemet. At a later protest, Choquette said, he was jumped on and beaten by three Scientology guards and was arrested for trespassing. The charges against him were later dropped by the district attorney, but Choquette is suing the organization.  No charges were pressed against the guards -- instead the county passed a law restricting picketing in front of the complex, and Scientologists are seeking closure of Gilman Springs Road, a highway with daily traffic of 15,000 cars.

According to Choquette, witnesses have recounted mind-control processes which attempted to humiliate, terrorize and control staff. Scientology management "used isolation, threats of loss of contact with family and friends, incest and repeated accusations and insults, interrogation,  security checks with the 'E-Meter,' and group confessionals where staff were routinely locked in a room together and screamed at for hours to force them to confess their mistakes, inabilities and thought crimes against their leader and a Scientology group."

In November, a complaint was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court by attorneys for John Lindstein, who said he was forced as a child to work for long hours and at illegally low pay.

According to the lawsuit, the Gold Base resembles a prison camp. A fence topped by a razor wire encircles the complex with sharp inward pointing spikes. Gates are guarded, the grounds patrolled and motion sensors are placed throughout. Roll is taken three times a day and searches are conducted for missing members.

Choquette has thousands of documents, pictures, public records and other sources to buttress his claims.

Think of the money that Scientology will spend on lawyers and private detectives to try and ruin this guy's life when instead it could be doing something like helping out Haiti.

If you want to learn about Scientology abuse at Gold, try Jeff Hawkings blog. This is his personal account of life at Gold Base in Riverside County:
    counterfeitdreams.blogspot.com/

Marty Rathbun's blog is a self serving pile, in which he blames David Miscavige, the current head of Scientology, for everything that's gone wrong. But you see, Mr. Rathbun was at the forefront of crafting and launching abusive ops against Scientology enemies, and he still refuses to take responsibility for his actions. He also refuses to talk to authorities, as he'd likely wind up in prison for some of his shenanigans. It's thought Rathbun may be launching a coup against the current Scientology leader, positioning himself to take over the helm. If there is justice, it will end with Miscavige and Rathbun sharing a cell.

For further information about Scientology, google:

    "operation freakout"
    "operation snow white"
    scientology +overboarding
    scientology ship chain locker

Why look at this old '70s stuff? Because it will show that the abuses by Scientology were taking place long before Miscavige was in charge. The abuses are inevitable consequences of following LRH policies (the "tech"), not something new that was dreamed up by current management.

The Gold Base situation documented by Mr. Choquette is just the local tip of a huge global iceburg.

Choquette (pronounced "choke-it") has had numerous confrontations with the Church of Scientology, both as an Internet activist, and as a street agitator. He famously provoked an incident in which he verbally and physically assaulted church security guards in order to provoke a response, which included a well-deserved black eye.

WHAT IS FRANCOIS CHOQUETTE'S MAJOR MALFUNCTION?

I guess the larger question here is, "WHY?" What is his motive? Francois has never been a Scientologist and the anti-Scientology conspiracy theories, while entertaining, can hardly be said to be compelling enough to radicalize someone against the Church (assuming the person is otherwise mentally stable).

    THE ANSWER IS SIMPLE:

His entire future depends upon his ability to cash in on his frivolous law suits against the Church of Scientology. In the absence of any real evidence to support his bogus and fantastic claims, he's working overtime to generate hysteria and hype.

Tom Newton is nothing more than an employee of the Church of Scientology who's sole job is to create "black pr" about individuals who criticize the organization. What other "church" has an entire department dedicated to defaming critics to destroy their credibility? Not only that, but the Office of Special Affairs (the aforementioned department) is also responsible for conducting espionage operations to gather information and infiltrate opposing groups, including the United States government!!

The largest infiltration of the US Govt was by the Church of Scientology, when the OSA was called the Guardian's Office. Nothing has changed but the names they go by. Everything else, is still as it was under Hubbard.

Francoi anad company are part of a what researchers have termed "The Anti-Scientology Racket," a group of anti-Religion extremists who have learned how easy it is to sue churches.

These disingenuous punks mask themselves (both literally and figuratively) as heroes who are saving people, when in reality, they merely fatten their own pocketbooks.

If ANY of Francoi's ridiculous claims were true, they would have been investigated. But no. Here they are, 30 years later, still being brought up as "evidence" of conspiracy.

    ANONYMOUS IS A HATE GROUP.

FRANCOI CHOQUETTE IS THE "RIVERSIDE KOOK" AND THE FBI KNOWS IT.

It's interesting to note here that, even if the FBI could be convinced to examine the ridiculous claims made by Choquette and his Anonymous cohorts, it's not Scientology they would investigate. Anonymous and the anti-Scientology activists have conspired to commit, and actually committed, more crimes than those they are accusing. The fact is, the "Underwear Bomber" Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab has a better chance at initiating a class action lawsuit against Northwest Airlines for racial profiling its passengers than Choquette does of anything other than making himself seem even kookier than he already is.

Lol! Scientology has cried wolf to many times and the world is taking notice. So many high level scientologists are leaving the cult and stating the brutality, fraud, kidnapping, slavery and unexplained deaths as fact. What do you expect from a cult who uses the "FAIR GAME POLICY".

SP Order. Fair game. May be deprived of property or injured by any means by any Scientologist without any discipline of the Scientologist. May be tricked, sued or lied to or destroyed.

    -L Ron Hubbard 1967

Although this policy was cancelled (by name only) in 1968 the following statement shows that its actions are still in effect.

The practice of declaring people FAIR GAME will cease. FAIR GAME may not appear on any Ethics Order. It causes bad public relations. This P/L does not cancel any policy on the treatment or handling of an SP.

It is quite apparent that Scientology's supporters have been taught to counter negative information with a consistent, formulaic response that is blatantly transparent. Don't answer, just counter with accusations and TRY to discredit the accuser. Time and again. Why does Scientology need to hide things? Where there is smoke, there is fire.

Scientology is dangerous to society and has reached some high levels in it. Secretive, manipulative, controlling - from day one. I have first hand experience but thank God my wife was clear headed enough to raise a big enough stink to make me reconsider.

Scientology is Fair Game and more power to Mr. Choquette.

ah, Scientology handlers, so fun to run into them, however, the COS loves to play the victim card, lets take a look
google operation freak out and snow white, where the church was convicted of framing a critic of the church and for breaking into various goverment offices to conceal the church's crimes.
google their haiti effort, which is shipping "ministers" over to touch the victims of the earthquake to heal them and to ensure no psychatrist treats them for post traumatic stress disorder.
    finally, google the Xenu story.

THERE IS NO HARD EVIDENCE. DON'T YOU GET IT?

Maybe because there can't be evidence of that which never happened.
