Thursday night, August 26th, the Empire State Building was lit-up in red, white, and blue in honoring the anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment to the US Constitution, which gave women the right to vote. The Catholic League was not happy.
In early June, Catholic League president, Bill Donahue demanded that the Empire State Building be lit-up in blue and white on August 26th in honor of the 100th birthday of Mother Teresa. The management of the Empire State Build denied their demand.
As a result, Donahue has waged a three month smear campaign and protest against the Empire State Building and the building’s owner, Anthony E. Malkin. Donahue had even gotten city council members to pressure the privately owned building to give into his demands.
The Catholic League even staged a last minute protest outside the Empire State Building on Thursday evening. The protest was met with a counter-protest which supported the right of the private building to make their own decision about how their building should be lit.
Now that this event is over, one can only wonder what the Catholic League will protest next.

I am sick of how religions are taking down the wall of separation of church and state .
Brick by brick thechristians, republicans and tea party fanatics try to disassemble the constitution to their liking .I want to be free of delusion and not debased for my free thinking .

Poor Bill Donohue! Apparently he's so desperate for things to be offended at, he has to go out of his way to creat them!
That's just insane.
It seems as though Mr. Donohue has to have something to be all blustery about, or he's just not happy!
Got something to say?
