The Fourth annual Unity Picnic sponsored by the Philadelphia Coalition of Reason (PhillyCoR) is just a week away. This year, there will be a special guest at the picnic. Sam Singleton, Atheist Evangelist will be performing his one man comedy stage show “Too Big For God.”
PhillyCoR represents eight freethought, humanist, and atheist organizations which have joined together to help spread reason throughout the Philadelphia region. What some people may not be aware of is that PhillyCoR is actually the flagship group of UnitiedCoR. UnitiedCoR has successfully organized atheistic groups together in twenty-seven cities around the nation.
This will be Sam Singleton’s second time performing in the Philadelphia area. Last year the Atheist Evangelist performed his comedy show “Patriarchs and Penises.” If you missed it, you can see it again this time around. Sam will be performing this more adult show on Monday July 26th and Tuesday July 27th at the Black Sheep Pub in Rittenhouse Square at 7pm. Tickets are available online at a modest $8 a person or at the door.
The PhillyCoR Unity Picnic will be held on Sunday July 25th, from 1pm to 5pm rain or shine at the Flourtown Pavilion in Fort Washington State Park. There is a minimum donation of $10 to help cover the cost of some of the food and drinks. People are also asked to bring some food to share. If your last name begins with:
A-G bring salad or vegetable
H-P bring fruit or desert
Q-Z bring bread, potato or rice dish

Like previous years, this picnic encourages families to bring their kids. There will be games and activities for children and great conversation for adults… and of course, Sam Singleton’s kid friendly show.
