My Brief Personal Experience: While finishing errands as I drove the streets of Los Angeles a person caught my eye who reminded me of someone dear to my heart, my Godson, who suffered abuse as a child. As I neared home the tears in my heart welled up and began falling from my eyes- though the event took place decades ago, memory of the hurt still lingers.
It’s a bit embarrassing to break out in tears in public for seeming no apparent reason. I imagine people wonder, “who, what did this to her and why- has she, uh, lost it?” Thank goodness for shades that help keep the sun’s rays out, tears hidden, and “California-cool” image flowing.
Once home I decided to relax and play a DVD I had recently purchased entitled, “Dysfunktional Family,” starring Eddie Griffin. I placed the DVD in and watched Eddie Griffin meet and greet a few people as he makes his way on stage. He’s now in front of the microphone and begins sharing a litany of comedic experiences that have me laughing till it hurts! I can’t believe he went there- and goes “there” over and over again! I find myself laughing out loud, shouting out loud, “NO YOU DIDN’T (say that!), OH MY GOD!” I rewind every few minutes or so in amazement. This man is beyond cutting-edge funny!
I intuitively take a second to examine the status of my heart and there is no pain left from earlier today. Rather, I feel contentment and joy like never before. It feels like a miracle and I find myself offering up gratitude for whatever, whomever created this comedian, this man called “Eddie Griffin.” Honestly, I laughed from beginning to end, and then decided to play the DVD again- I NEVER do a back-to-back review like that, but I had to replay it again. After the second viewing I vow to myself to contact his staff and let them know how my life was touched with grace from the laughter he helped generate. I wrote a brief letter much like this I’m sharing with you now. I downloaded his picture and placed it with the others who hold a sacred place in my mind and heart for the inspiration they’ve created. ...Then months pass.
A few weeks ago I opened my e mail to find “Eddie Griffin is now following you on Twitter!” *SMILE* I can hardly believe it! I feel even more gratitude. What a humble and kind man.
Listen folks, you owe it to your happiness to check this man out! He’s a true Midas- he’ll turn your pain into rays of golden sunshine for real! Astrologically Speaking: Eddie is born under the sign of Cancer but he has a heavy placement of Aries in his chart. While being able to comfortably shift into the nurturer modality, he has an undeniable inclination to trail-blaze uncharted territory characteristic of Aries the Ram.
