Pluto, the planet astrologically known for the life, death, and rebirth process stations for direct motion on September 11, 2009 on the anniversary of the Twin Towers attack in the U.S. Pluto, along with Mars, is the co-ruler of Scorpio, the intense transformer, and presides over 8th house matters of death, taxes, occult matters, and sexuality. Pluto is known mythologically as Hades, ruler of the underworld. All great mythological heroes had to descend into Pluto's realm prior to initiation into the heavens. We humans, also on our own personal hero's journey, must experience this trans-formative venture in order to achieve oneness with self. This planet is looked upon as powerful, destructive, and healing. Through recent decades we have seen Pluto's power, destruction, and healing abilities. In the 1980's as Pluto traveled through Scorpio, the sign associated with sexuality, there was a global focus on HIV and AIDS. During the 1990's as Pluto traveled through Sagittarius, the sign associated with philosophical perspectives, there was a focus on the Catholic Church scandals as well as religious wars. Just in the last year Pluto has moved into Capricorn, the sign associated with business, with a focus on the fall out of capitalism and the global marketplace. During this approximate 15 year transit we will be letting go of old business structures, both literally and figuratively bringing forth transformation and re-birthing a new order. The last time Pluto was in Capricorn (1762-1777) new governments formed, most notably the United States Declaration of Independence.

All good points. I really liked this article. Please also note that Capricorn **is** the sign of authoritarianism, restriction, order, and control, and thus government. Barack Obama rode into the presidency on a wave of Pluto in Capricorn ("hope and change" or revolution in government). Please also note that the Gemini moon always brings out the shouters (see Rodney king/L.A. Riot verdict) and with Saturn solidly in Virgo (sign of "the commons and commoners") with the sun closing in to attempt a combust/fusion conjunction, and of course mars in (whiny) Cancer the emphasis is on details, bickering, complaining, and general dissatisfaction. The time is ripe for revolution, but only if one of the ultra-right-wing talk show hosts declares war. Otherwise we should have a relatively peaceful time of shouting and name calling. This is not a short term situation. These will be "interesting times" for a few years, and do remember that 2012 is coming, with everything that is expected to create.
