The Moon is an effective teacher of process and a wonderful timing guide ~ it's simple and you don't have to be involved in astrology to follow its natural cycles.You can visually see this ongoing process in the night sky.

Note ~ The monthly Solar/Lunar cycle has been observed and studied since the dawn of human existence. Along with the cycles of day and night and the seasons it provided a repetitive pattern which allowed the ancients to gain a sense of security and predictability in a chaotic world.

The cycles of day/night and seasons are the basis of the astrological houses and the zodiac ~ but the meanings of signs of the zodiac, the houses, and the astrological aspects are all based upon the Solar/Lunar cycle. Each derives its meaning from the paticular place or function each has within the cycle as a whole. When an astrology student studies this archetypal cycle, they will have much more than a memorized rote definition of the signs, houses and aspects ~ they will have a deeper and broader understanding of each and it's meaning and place in process of life as a whole.
