In his famous poem Garage Sale, Tom Zart states that “One man's trash is another man's treasure.” Undoubtedly, Atlanta art lovers will agree with this notion this fall.
Celebrating its 6th year, the Georgia Chapter of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA Georgia) will proudly host their annual auction/fundraiser titled Trash-To-Treasure (T2T) on Thursday, September 23rd at the Knoll Showroom. The event, which features “environmental art” from national and local artists, will benefit the Atlanta Belt Line.
According to the project’s website, the Atlanta Belt Line will “shape the way Atlanta grows throughout the next several decades” by providing a “network of public parks, multi-use trails and transit along a historic 22-mile railroad corridor circling downtown and connecting 45 neighborhoods directly to each other.”
Food and live entertainment will be provided along with guest speakers offering valuable information on the Belt Line. All guests will be able to purchase the art on display through live or silent auction. Proceeds from the event will go towards IIDA sponsored art for the Belt Line.
What: Trash-To-Treasure (T2T)
When: Thursday, September 23rd, 7pm
Where: Knoll Showroom, 1179 Howell Mill Road, Atlanta, GA 30318

Thank you for such a wonderful article on the IIDA Georgia Trash to Treasure Event benefiting artwork on the Atlanta Beltline Project! This is the kind of event that individuals interested in the success of the project should support. Artwork on the beltline will make it a destination where Atlanta's creative energy can flourish in a communal outdoor interconnected habitat that nourishes the soul of its community. I hope that the entire city of Atlanta will recognize how much such efforts as this artwork auction fundraiser can contribute to the future appeal and personae of our wonderful city! Get involved! Splurge and buy some art! It's for a great cause...not only will individuals get some terrific art for themselves, but will be a part of providing art for our beltline and for all of our future enjoyment for years to come!
