In just under two weeks, three-time cancer survivor and extraordinary painter, Michael Maness will be making a stop in Nashville. He'll be at Richard's Cafe on Whites Creek Pike on Saturday, December 12, from 4-9 PM. He will be showcasing several of his original paintings and even selling them, in hopes of raising money towards another battle against cancer.

His doctor just recently told him he has Lymphoma Cancer. Michael already battled this type of cancer at least once before. He also battled Bone Marrow Cancer and Congestive Heart Failure within the past twelve years. Since he was first told of his diagnosis in 1997, he changed his whole lifestyle around.

"I see the world from a different angle than most people. Instead of a constantly changing world, a crowd doing the expected; I paint the individual and focus on the individual's spirit to tell a story." -- Michael Maness

Michael's paintings and prints have raised money for more than 100 organizations, including St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Red Door, Clay Walker's Band Against MS, The International Children's Heart Foundation, The Blues Foundation, and the Susan G. Koman Foundation. He's raised over two million dollars for just the listed organizations alone! In October of 2007, he teamed up with Steve Cropper, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, to donate two canvases and a painted Les Paul Guitar to the T.J. Martell Foundation which raised $38,000.

It is said that Michael paints with a "dynamic kaleidoscope of colors." He even won the 2010 Keeping the Blues Alive Award for 2010. His gallery of blues performers and musicians include artists such as B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Elvis, Brother Ray, Arthur Williams, and Luther Allison. His gallery of country performers and musicians include Clay Walker, Montgomery Gentry, Alan Jackson, and Johnny Cash.

"His unique style and iridescent colors are indicative of a new passion for life and a unique interpretation of his surroundings." -- Campbell Entertainment Group
