Northern Clay Center's is a Minneapolis art studio and gallery committed is the advancement of the ceramic arts. Ongoing programs include exhibitions by contemporary regional, national and international ceramic artists, as well as historical and architectural ceramics. NCC's facility, located at 2424 Franklin Avenue East in Minneapolis, MN features two galleries, studio space, and a sales gallery representing many top ceramic artists from the region and elsewhere. In addition, Northern Clay Center offers classes and workshops for children and adults at all skill levels.

Summer courses are now open for enrollment and include Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced Pottery, Ceramics, and Clay For Couples. Most adult classes take place for 9 weeks, while summer day camps are popular with children and families. There are still a few spring workshops available, including morning and afternoon Mother's Day offerings on May 8th for those who would like to take a pottery class with their mother (dads are also welcome, as well as any other 'mother-figure').

Northern Clay Center also has a unique outreach program called ClayToGo, which includes a mobile clay studio aptly called The ClayMobile. The 15-foot truck carries materials for the professional teaching artists who then take their craft out into the community. ClayToGo offers both short presentations and multi-week residencies in schools, community centers, or any interested organization. For the 2-3 hour workshop, artists present demonstrations about the potter's wheel, handbuilding, and glazing techniques needed to complete the creation of clay and ceramic objects. Artists also partake of 3-6 week residencies in schools or other organizations with up to 300 students or other participants.

In their two gallery spaces, Northern Clay Center produces around a dozen exhibitions annually and will host a variety of regional and national participants in the American Pottery Festival this coming September 9th - 12th.  This year also marks the 20th Anniversary of Northern Clay Center.
