May 1st is National Scrapbook Day, a day for nostalgic paper crafters to celebrate their passion. Scrapbooking skills and supplies have many uses beyond the album. When framed, a scrapbook layout makes an attractive wall hanging.
The example shown here is intended as a baby shower or Mother's Day gift, but the method can be used to make wall hangings for any theme or occasion. (Remember, Mother's Day is just around the corner!) Use letter stickers to spell out whatever sentiment you would like and embellish as desired.
The materials for this project were purchased at Dollar Daze in Clare, Michigan. It is a wonderful dollar store (though not everything is $1) and is every budget crafter's dream - well worth the stop if you happen to be in the area!
* Large wooden picture frame - $5
* 2 sheets 12 x 12 scrapbook paper - $1
* Die cut letter stickers - $1.25
* Felt flower embellishments - $1
Total project cost - $8.25
