It is traditional to give paper cards to friends and family on Valentine's Day. However, cards can get expensive. Save some money this season by making your own!
Scrap, Scribble, and Stick of Grand Rapids is offering a 10 for 10 Valentine card class, where you make 10 Valentine cards for just $10. There are two classes left before the holiday, one one Tuesday, February 9 at 6:00 PM and one on Wednesday, February 10 at 1:00 PM. Participants must sign up and pay at least two days in advance. Call (616) 532-2000 to check the availability of spaces in these classes and to sign up.
If you can't make it to these classes, or you just want to get started right away, I have put together a quick, easy, and cheap Valentine's Day card project, which is detailed in the slideshow below.
For this project, I used a recycled piece of cardboard as the card base. (The cardboard came in a package of sheet protectors as a stabilizer.) I also used scrap paper left over from another project and a length of ribbon that I also had on hand. The flower tag came from a package bought at Dollar Tree, which were 20 for $1. Dollar Tree also sells 3-packs of glue sticks for $1. You will also need a paper cutter, scissors, and a small hole punch.
