Many of your may not know that Fabric.com is local. Based in Marietta, this popular online fabric retailer is spreading its wings and taking the craft world by storm. One of Fabric.com newest product lines is scrapbooking supplies.
Located on the left side navigation bar, you can find scrapbooking supplies in the Crafts section. It is chock full of papery delights. Border punches, stamps and scissors are just the tip of the iceberg. Their paper selection is out of this world. Fabric.com offers free shipping for orders over $35 but it is free with local pick-up. Depending on my order, I will do either. If I choose delivery my package is on my doorstep the day after it has been shipped, usually 2-3 days after my order. It is amazing. It saves a trip and parking hassle plus I can shop in my Pjs on the couch with coffee. This is a great joy for the parent of a very handsy one-year-old.
Here is a little project you can use your new Fabric.com purchases on (if you also own a Cricut Paper Cutter). I used Amy Butler Paper Crafts as the prints in this project and installed it in my daughter's room on her magnetic wall.
I selected various shapes (all 5 inches) and cut them out using cardstock weight paper (in my case Amy Butler Paper) and assembled them with small pieces of double sided tape. I then cut pieces of sticky-backed magnetic strips (sold by the roll) and applied them to the back of each assembled shape. I was able to make birds, fruit, flowers, and her name for her wall and to decorate the tree I painted there. These will be great when she is older and can play with them and move the magnets around. Plus with my cricut, I was able to make many more magnets than with sewing.
Some other ideas are:
- Cut out the alpabet and let kids make their own words.
- Paint a scene on the wall and using the paperdoll cartridge create your own dolls and play out on the wall with your kids
- Create a calendar and change it up with magnets every month
- Use your magnetic wall to decorate your house for every holiday, quickly and easily.
Submit your own ideas, I would love to hear what you make!
