Legendary rock group ZZ Top has cancelled their Saturday, July 26th tour stop at the Washington County Fair in West Bend, WI and the remaining dates of their summer tour. Bassist Dusty Hill will undergo surgery to remove two kidney stones later this week. Hill's doctor advised him to have the surgeries immediately to prevent further problems.
Washington County Fair officials are telling ticket holders to hold on to their tickets at this time. Around 700 to 800 reserved or VIP tickets were sold. The fair will be announcing a new headliner for July 26th within the next 24 hours. This is the first time in the fair has lost a headliner in it's 156 years.
“Although we are very disappointed that this much-anticipated show will not go on as planned, we understand that Mr. Hill’s medical condition is something that must take priority,” said Sandy Lang, Executive Director/Fair Manager, Washington County Fair Park & Conference Center. We are working nonstop to secure a new headliner, and are confident that we’ll have some great news to announce in the very near future,” Lang added.
Information on ticket refunds will be available once a new headliner is announced. Check for the latest updates at the fair's website: http://www.wcfairpark.com/
