ZZ Top, even though considered not so young musicians anymore, do still attract young fans and the young at heart!

These musicians first formed their American blues rock band in 1969 in Houston, Texas.

"The band currently consists of guitarist and lead vocalist Billy Gibbons, bassist and co-lead vocalist Dusty Hill, and the drummer is Frank Beard.

The band and its members went through several reconfigurations throughout 1969, achieving their current form when Hill replaced bassist Billy Etheridge in Feb. 1970. That happened shortly before the band was signed to London Records." - Wikipedia

ZZ Top has become known for its strong blues roots and humorous lyrical motifs (repetition of phrases). The band's musical style changed over the years.

"The band began with blues-inspired rock on their early albums. Later they incorporated New Wave, punk rock and dance-rock, eventually adding heavy use of synthesizers.

The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004." - Wikipedia

These talented musicians have performed actively since 1969 to present day.

The most recent project that ZZ Top has been "tied to" is the popular TV show "Duck Dynasty." Their connection with the show is the show's theme song. It is composed by the band, and the song is "Sharp Dressed Man."

Note that Billy Gibbons has also been busy acting. He was cast as a father figure in the "Bones" TV series.

An even more recent event is that of ZZ Top continuing to go on tour. Their current tours include Clearwater, Hollywood and Orlando, Fla., Dec. 27-29. They will ring out the old year on Dec. 31 by performing in Cherokee, N.C.
