Zynga hopes its success on the farm can translate to the field.

Zynga, the mobile game developer behind “Farmville” and “Words With Friends,” announced the creation of a new brand on their official site Thursday, Zynga Sports 365, with “NFL Showdown” and an unnamed golf game featuring golf great Tiger Woods as the first games revealed.

According to the press release, Zynga has secured a multi-year licensing agreement with the National Football League and NFL Players Inc., which will bring all of your favorite NFL players and teams to your mobile device. Although other football games are on the Android and iOS market, including the long-heralded Madden series, this will be Zynga’s first attempt at a pigskin game on mobile platforms.

“NFL Showdown” will be a different experience however, as Zynga said it will be a manager-style simulation that will feature in the trenches Owner, General Manager and Coach duties, rather than on the field gameplay.

Zynga’s golf game will be developed by Mike Taramykin, Jason Shenkman, Jeff Luhr, Ian Cummings and Michael Cayado and unlike their NFL game, according to the company will be a traditional golf game featuring Woods, who recently ended a liscencing agreement with Electronic Arts after several years.

According to Zynga, “NFL Showdown” will be available by the start of the NFL season, while the golf game will hit digital shelves in 2015.

“As a sports fan, I am particularly excited about our Sports expansion and being able to share this exciting news with you,” Clive Downie, COO of Zynga, said in the press release. “I believe that by combining our expertise with the NFL, NFL Players Inc. and Tiger Woods, we can create next-generation mobile football and golf games for consumers around the world.”
