Lincoln Park Zoo is transformed into a winter wonderland for the 15th Annual ZooLights,. Over 1.5 million shimmering lights have transformed the Chicago area Zoo into a holiday treasure. The annual holiday festival is presented by ComEd and Charter One Bank.
ZooLights is a free holiday event that offers a family friendly excursion that delights kids and adults. Beginning on December 18, 2009, Zoolights is offering the holiday light show nightly through January 3, 2009, except for on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, December 24-25, when the zoo is closed.
Lincoln Park Zoo is open 10 am to 9 pm, with special ZooLights activities starting at 5 PM. The first 1,000 visitors each night receive a free pair of 3D glasses for a truly magical light display experience.
The dazzling ZooLights musical light show is choreographed to holiday tunes on the zoo's south lawn. Check out the 'arctic artists' as they carve incredible sculptures out of massive blocks of ice.
Drink warming beverages, such as spiced wine and hot chocolate. Head over to the Kovler Lion House for a visit with Santa through December 23. Once Santa departs to spread holiday cheer around the world, the Lion House will host live musical entertainment from December 26 to January 3, 2010.
Lincoln Park Zoo is proud to announce that this year’s event is glowing a little bit greener
with all animal and holiday-themed displays featuring LED bulbs which help lower the
festival’s ecological footprint.
Lincoln Park Zoo is a free attraction in Chicago. There is no admission fee, but there is a fee for parking at the zoo.
