Zooey Deschanel doesn't believe in Daisy Dukes. The "New Girl" star revealed to Lucky magazine that she would never wear the once famous denim short shorts. Us Weekly got an excerpt of her interview on Jan. 30.

The actress says that she's sick of Daisy Duke shorts. She doesn't recommend anyone over the age of 30 to wear them. That is one trend that the actress wants to stay away from.

Deschanel told the fashion magazine, "I like what I like. It has nothing to do with trends or being a slave to fashion. Sometimes things will be in style and they're classic and look great," the New Girl star, 34, says, and then adds, "I think it's important to recognize when fashion has gone to a place that isn't cute."

What is cute according to Zooey? She says that Audrey Hepburn and Jack Onassis always had a classic style. She liked that they both played up their assets with their clothing.

Zooey Deschanel says that fashion should be a form of self-expression. She added, "Fashion is a way of communicating. You're saying, 'Hi world! How are you? This is me today. Take me or leave me!"
