Zooey Deschanel and Tommy Hilfiger are teaming up, according to a Jan. 27 report by Digital Spy. The actress will collaborate with the American designer on a line of dresses.

Hilfiger says that the dresses will evoke the style of London in the 1960s. The collection is set to launch at Macy's across the United States on April 14, 2014.

The collection will also be available on the Tommy Hilfiger website on April 21.

Hilfiger told WWD,

"They are '60s-inspired short dresses. There is a lot of red, white and blue, but done in a Zooey way with interesting detail and flirty fabrics. They are very Jean Shrimpton and Twiggy - really from the '60s in London. That's not something we would normally put in our regular sportswear line - maybe we'd be inspired by the '60s for the runway, but it's a new way to look at fun, American classics."

Rumor has it that Deschanel met Hilfiger through a mutual friend. The two discussed about working on a collection together.

Hilfiger dubs Deschanel as the next Audrey Hepburn. He says that he likes "her sense of humor, her sophistication."

Deschanel exclaimed her love for the designer also. She said, "Tommy and I share many of the same inspirations - old-school music, classic films and old Hollywood icons - and his guidance during the design process helped to put a really unique twist on each piece."

The Zooey Deschanel and Tommy Hilfiger collection includes a total of 16 dresses. Only 14 of them will be available at Macy's stores across the country. The entire collection will be available on Tommy.com. The collection doesn't have a name as of yet.
