'Zone of the Enders HD' hits Playstation Store

The Playstation Store update hit earlier today, bringing with it several games, including one digital title that has been eagerly awaited: The Zone of the Enders HD Collection. This includes the first game, as well as the European Special Edition of 2nd Runner.

Zone of the Enders follows the path of Leo, a Jupiter colonist, who is captured when BAHRAM assaults the colony he lives in. He manages to escape, however he loses his friends when they are crushed by a falling LEY. Leo manages to hide in a hangar, and it is there that he comes across the Orbital Frame known as Jehuty. With Jehuty's help, he manages to fight off the BAHRAM forces that had been sent to retrieve it, and Leo begins trying to rescue and defend the other Jupiter colonists. Will he be able to succeed? Or will BAHRAM manage to claim Jehuty as their own?

The 2nd Runner follows Dingo's story. Dingo works at a mining facility, where he stumbles across Jehuty, who had been hidden there by Leo. Activating the suit, Dingo manages to fight off the BAHRAM soldiers that had been sent to retrieve it, but is soon defeated by Anubis, the superior counterpart to Jehuty, and its pilot. As a result, Dingo is captured. While in captivity, he is shot, and placed back in Jehuty. It is explained that the suit is acting as life support, and that if Dingo leaves it, he will die. Will he manage to find a way to live outside Jehuty? Or will he be stuck inside forever?

In addition to the ZOE collection, Bayonetta, Everyone Sing, and Air Conflicts: Secrets of War hit the Playstation Store as full PS3 games. The Hitman Trilogy, Blood Money, Contracts, and Silent Assassin (all HD) join as PSN games as Let's Fish! Hooked on adds to the digital Vita ranks. Vice City joins the PS2 Classics lineup, while we also get several new bundles to sink our teeth into.

The bundles are the Hitman Trilogy, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Ultimate Edition, Dead or Alive 5 (with the Swimsuit DLC), Farm Frenzy 2, and the Run for your Life collection, which features Jetpack Joyride and Canabalt. Crysis 3's beta finally becomes playable as well, allowing fans of the first two games to sink their teeth into a short segment of the upcoming game. Finally, Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus (Vita) joins the store as a free Playstation Plus game.

Overall, there's plenty of content for gamers to enjoy this week, and fans of Hideo Kojima who may have msised out on the original releases of Zone of the Enders (or those who simply want to play the HD versions) will be happy with the Collection's digital release. For full prices (and sales that I neglected to cover), you can check out the official announcement. Happy gaming!
