Zombies, humans, and everyone in between are needed to create the undead world of Inhuman: A Festival of New American Undead Theater at the Alley Theater this spring.
Alley Theater started the InHuman festival last year, utilizing each of the facility's theaters to present full length original shows, short plays, and musicals all dedicated to zombies, ghosts, other undead, and, sometimes, the human response to it.
This year, the Alley Theater returns with a festival that will include fresh, original shows on the undead. Vampires, ghosts, that creature hiding in your room, mythical beings, goblins, ghouls, and zombies may all be involved.
Everyone is needed to fill in the spots for the InHuman, whether its an actor or actress or someone that can help backstage.
Auditions for the show will take place Feb. 2 from 12-3 p.m. at the Alley Theater, located at 1210 Franklin Street in the Butchertown section of Louisville. Prospective actors and actresses will need a headshot and resume. During the audition, there will be cold readings from the festival's scripts.
For those that are better at handling the undead backstage, there are plenty of opportunities. Whether you're a makeup artist, like to move things around, or be a stage manager, there could be a position for you. Email the Alley Theater artistic director, Todd Zeigler, for more information.
The second annual InHuman: A Festival of New American Undead Theater will take place from April 4-20. More details on the festival will come as the event nears.
