Zombies and Square Enix games make up the Xbox LIVE Deal of the Week

Microsoft launched a zombie-themed Xbox LIVE Deal of the Week on Tuesday that features both Xbox One and Xbox 360 games. “Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare” is included along with other notable titles like “State of Decay” and “Red Dead Redemption.” There’s even a Square Enix sale going on that doesn’t require a Gold membership.

“Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare” is the only Xbox One title to receive a discount for the week but it can be purchased and downloaded from the Xbox Store for $29.99, which is $10 off the regular price.. Meanwhile, its Xbox 360 counter-part is also discounted (almost) $10 and can be had for odd price of $20.09. Note that the major difference between the two versions of the game is that the Xbox One copy supports two player local co-op play and using tablets in Zomboss Mode.

Other discounts in the Xbox LIVE Deal of the Week include “State of Decay” marked down to $9.99, “Dead Island: Riptide” for $11.99 and “Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare Collection” for $19.99. The “Call of Duty: Black Ops II Season Pass” is also on sale for half off at $24.99 since it fits the Zombies multiplayer mode fits the undead theme of the week.

Not as heralded discounted titles include “Zombie Driver HD” for $2.49 and “Zombie Apocalypse: Never Die Alone” for $3.39. They are joined by “How to Survive” at a price of $7.49.

An Xbox LIVE Gold subscription is required to receive the discount on these titles. Subscriptions are normally $59.99 for a year but are on sale regularly between $40 and $50 at retailers like Amazon.
