Zombieland to Become A Web Series

If you've been waiting patiently, or impatiently, for the sequel to Zombieland you may, or may not, be happy to hear that Zombieland will return— just not as a movie sequel.

An adaptation of the hit 2009 movie is in the works at, of all places, Amazon.com. Amazon Studios, the entertainment division of Amazon, has announced that they are working with Zombieland producer, Gavin Polone, to develop the film as a series that will be available online.

Although most of your favorite characters will return, the actors that created them will not and are being recast. As you probably know, Zombieland 2 has been in development hell, first with conflicts about the script with the studio and the producers. Then the project was going to morph into a network TV series instead, but alas, the producers just couldn't secure a network deal. Then a deal with Amazon developed and the project found new life.

The series will be offered through Amazon Instant Video, Amazon's answer to Netflix and Hulu.

Will Zombieland succeed on Amazon? What do you think?
