In a classic striker vs. grappler non-tournament bout Muay Thai champion Zoila Frausto knocked out mixed martial arts veteran Rosi Sexton from the U.K. in two minutes flat with a vicious Muay Thai knee to the face at Bellator 23 on June 24 and earned Fight of the Night honors.
"I am number one," Frausto said in her post-fight interview when asked where she sees herself after her defeat of top fighter, Sexton. "Ever since I started my MMA career in February 2009 I have been gunning for number one and that's where I will stay."
Sexton was a very gracious loser once she regained consciousness and congratulated Frausto. She also admitted her own mistake later openly on twitter and facebook.
Following her loss via KO Sexton received an automatic medical suspension for 60 days from the Kentucky Boxing and Wrestling Authority which the Florida State Boxing Commission will inevitably honor. As a result Sexton will not be able to participate in Bellator's upcoming women's tournament on Aug. 12 at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Fla. in spite of her previously guaranteed spot.
