Zogreo Church

Robert Shackleford lights the world one individual at a time through his church, Zogreo.

He discussed, “Zogreo Church is a non-denominational Bible-believing teaching church. Zogreo is a Greek word which means catch. I got it from the Bible, Luke 5:10. In context the definition of zogreo is to catch men or souls alive. The main thrust of Zogreo Church is soul winning, evangelism and discipleship. Our mission is to win souls for Jesus. We meet at the Eagles Nest Church located at 620 E. Fourth Street in Monroe, Michigan.”

Robert continued, “Zogreo began last July 2013. We went knocking on doors, asking the neighbors if I could pray for any special needs they may have. In amazement, we were received and prayed for people right on their porches, lawns and driveways. On Sunday, August 4, 2013, we held our first worship service. We started as a community church; our focus is to reach out to the community by setting up touch groups, and promoting our S.M.A.R.T. program in the public schools and youth institutions. This is a unique prevention program for our youth. Also with our Project F.E.E.D. program we will address the lack of food in our community.

As a Bishop I am called to oversee the spiritual affairs of Zogreo Church. I believe that a healthy productive family is the key to a strong, and safe community. Therefore Zogreo Church will have touch groups within our community. It will allow us to have a sense of spiritual and natural awareness within the family. In our society, family may consist of man - woman and kids, woman-woman and kids, or man-man and kids. Whatever it may be, Zogreo's aim is to share the unconditional love of Christ.”

He talked about his vision, “Zogreo Church has a great vision to serve the people of Monroe. We believe that God loves humanity and desires to have a covenant relationship with His creation; therefore, we are committed to reaching people who do not have a personal relationship with Jesus and are not involved in a dynamic local church. Therefore, my vision is to lead people to Jesus and membership in his family, teach them to worship the Lord and magnify his name, develop them to Christ-like maturity, and equip them for ministry in the church and mission in the world. Also my vision is to serve people in a tangible way: Project F.E.E.D. (Feed Edify Embrace Daily) food ministry, job training development and Economical development.”
