The second concert in the Alumni Recital Series at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM) will feature pianist Keisuke Nakagoshi (’06), performing with his ZOFO Duet partner Eva-Maria Zimmerman. Their recital will feature the four-hand version of Igor Stravinsky’s score for the ballet “The Rite of Spring,” the major work on their first public duo performance on October 30, 2009, which also took place at SFCM. The program will also feature a repeat performance of Nagakoshi’s own four-hand nocturne “Synæsthesia,” first performed in the Old First Concerts series this past January 25. In addition, Nakagoshi will give solo performances of “White Lies for Lomax,” by SFCM faculty member Mason Bates, the first of the two short piano solos by Toru Takemitsu entitled “Rain Tree Sketch,” and Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Opus 36 piano sonata in B-flat minor (his second).
This performance will take place in the SFCM Concert Hall at 8 p.m. on Friday, October 4. Tickets may be purchased by calling the Box Office at 415-503-6275. (Box Office hours are 10 a.m.–4 p.m., Monday through Friday.) The price is $20 for general admission, with a $15 rate for students, seniors, and Friends of the Conservatory. It is also possible to visit the Box Office in the lobby of the SFCM building at 50 Oak Street, a short walk from the Van Ness Muni station.
