Zodiac Valentine app allows you to choose a menu based on your ‘sign’

With Valentine’s Day looming, it is time to start thinking about plans for you and your someone special. If the plans center on a romantic meal at home, the question of what to serve arises.

Your options include scouring cookbooks and cooking websites. Or you could use Chow’s Valentine’s Day app to design a meal for you based on your and your partner’s astrological signs. Naturally, you don’t have to believe in the zodiac to play, and the app is the perfect solution for the chronically indecisive.

You simply enter in both your signs and the “machine” spits out a three-course menu, plus recipes. For example, if you were both born under the sign of Aries, your Valentine’s day meal will begin with Vietnamese-style summer rolls with peanut sauce, proceed to seared scallops with lemon and vodka over pasta, and finish with bread pudding with orange caramel sauce.

The recipes are reasonably uncomplicated and the shopping list not terribly taxing. The above named summer roll appetizer, for example, is here. If you don’t like one of the dishes or find its recipe too challenging, you can always fudge and choose a dish from another sign pairing. I promise, I won’t tell.
