Bringing the judges to their feet, Zoanette Johnson humbly took her place in the top 20 after her rendition of “Circle of Life” from “The Lion King.”
The song fit the personality of the 20-year-old Oklahoma singer. Zoanette included the opening chant from the film of the same name.
Judges were on their feet at the end of her performance, raving about the choice of song and her joyful spirit that gave her song choice complete meaning. Mariah Carey claims Zoanette’s spirit is too big to be contained. Nicki Minaj states she is proud of Zoanette and her performance. Randy Jackson tells Zoanette that “this is what it’s all about.” Keith Urban’s claims fit right in with the other judges, admiring this unique performer.
Zoanette is in the final 20 and it’s going to be interesting how America feels about Zoanette during the finals on “American Idol.”
Tonight, the men will have a chance to show what they’ve got and whittle their numbers down before the final performances of the season begin.
“American Idol” airs at 8/7 central in a two-hour program where 10 men will see if they have a chance to become the next “American Idol.”
