Zoanette Johnson shines with drums, original 'American Idol' performance

Aspiring recording artist Zoanette Johnson marched at the beat of her own drum, literally, on "American Idol" Thursday.

Performing an original and seemingly off the cuff song about "American Idol," Zoanette took off her jacket, jumped on a chair and actually played the drums.

Making the performance very entertaining, Zoanette called out Nicki Minaj, Randy Jackson, Mariah Carey and Keith Urban one by one until she got a little upset with the band.

"Slow it down," she yelled, shocking the band and dropping one of her drumsticks.

"Where my stick at? I need this to be right y'all. Come on," Zoanette said while looking for the missing drumstick.

After finding the stick, which had rolled down the platform she was on, Zoanette picked up with the band, impressing the judges.

"That rocked," Keith Urban said throwing up his hands.

At the end of the performance all four judges stood to their feet, giving Zoanette a standing ovation.

"American Idol" returns Wednesday night at 8 p.m. on FOX.
