Who will Ziva's successor be? Casting for a replacement for Ziva on "NCIS" has officially begun. Earlier this summer Cote de Pablo announced that she would not be returning to the show after eight years. On Aug. 14, MSN News reported that Ziva will be on the first two episodes of season 11 but then a new character named "Bishop" will be introduced.
"The character will be named Bishop and is a twenty-something female character who is 'bright, educated, athletic, attractive, fresh-faced, focused and somewhat socially awkward. She has a mysterious mixture of analytic brilliance, fierce determination and idealism. She's traveled extensively, but only feels comfortable at home,'" MSN News reports.
Ziva's successor has been announced in the fictional sense (Bishop) but "NCIS" has not said exactly which actress will be taking on the new role. It is pretty hard to imagine the show without Ziva as she was a main character and very much a staple, but Cote de Pablo made the decision to leave... and that has left writers and producers sort of in a hole.
At this point fans are just curious to see how the transition is going to be made. Ziva only has two episodes in season two to make a swift exit... and then Bishop's character will have some big shoes to fill.
Who should Ziva's successor be? Catch the season premier of "NCIS" on Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. EST.
