Zimmerman's wife won't press charges even though she called 911 and said that she was scared for her life. On Sept. 9, The Atlanta Journal Constitution reported that Shellie Zimmerman has decided not to press charges against her soon-to-be ex-husband which makes sense since authorities say that she changed her story a few times since the incident occurred.
"I know the 911 tape suggests that Shellie was saying something but I think that was heightened emotions. There may have been some pushing and touching. That happens a lot in divorce situations ... Nobody was injured," explained Zimmerman's attorney, Mark O'Mara.
Since Zimmerman's wife won't press charges and it does seem as though emotions got the best of everyone involved. There is still an investigation surrounding the 911 call as police need to ensure that Zimmerman did not use a firearm to threaten his wife and her father. At this time, things seem to be checking out in Zimmerman's favor.
Naturally it would have been really easy for Shellie Zimmerman to get loads of attention by mentioning that her husband was violent and that he had a gun. In a normal domestic case, this likely would have been wrapped up and tucked away by now -- but because it's George Zimmerman, it is going to linger a bit.
News that Zimmerman's wife won't press charges came just hours after news of his arrest broke.
