Zimmerman-Arias: Self Defense
The Zimmerman and Arias cases are both self-defense cases, yet are diametrically opposed.
The Arias case exhibits full-blown premeditated murder, so the claim of self defense by the defendant is beyond comprehension. How can two such diverse cases evoke such different emotions?
At first blush, Zimmerman appears to be a true self defense case. There is limited evidence against Zimmerman. With one eyewitness placing Trayvon on top of Zimmerman, joined by his physical injuries, there remains but a few blank moments of time to fill. It’s a real shame there was no video. This trial might have a chance if Jesse Jackson, the New Black Panthers etal stay out of it.

There is an overabundance of incriminating evidence against Arias (besides her confessions), which has led to and kept the media in a frenzy. The trial has been allowed to drag out day after day, making your ears bleed from the repetition, especially, the “sex-capades”. Unless Arias is “Sybil”, there can’t be a person who believes anything that comes out of her lying lips!

“Transient global amnesia” (TGA) is the latest introduction as a factor in Arias killing in self defense. Her expert defense doctor, Dr. Richard Samuels said this type of amnesia can be brought on by “too much sex.”
According to the Mayo Clinic, TGA is a “sudden, temporary episode of memory loss that can't be attributed to a more common neurological condition, such as epilepsy or stroke… episodes are usually short-lived, and afterward one’s memory is fine.”
Dr. Samuels explained to the jury that TGA is rare, noting, “Between three and eight people per 100,000 people each year experience transient global amnesia.”
He continued, “The amazing thing is, here are the things that can cause that -- sudden immersion in cold or hot water, physical exertion, emotional or psychological stress, pain, medical procedures, sexual intercourse and similar events have been observed in 50 to 90% of these documented attacks of transient global amnesia.”
When HLN’s Dr. Drew heard that testimony, he strongly reacted, saying, “[TGA] is a confusional state and it’s medical and it’s caused by medication. I’ve seen it a dozen times," adding, "It's not just [like] your memory vanishes … I don’t know how much clinical experience he has with [TGA].”

Mainstream media populates and sells the tune for each high profile trial. Jodi Arias is a chameleon with many nuances, who one minute is combative with the prosecutor, then smiling and animated while talking directly to the jury. Going from oozing sexuality to an ugly duckling…quite the performance. She has a smug smile ready, and uses a superlative vocabulary to present herself as intelligent, then switches over to a faltering and frail innocent. She plays with non-prescription eyeglasses, and uses her hair as a security blanket. Sniffling and yanking out tissues to wipe dry eyes is yet another of Jodi’s many faces as part of her repertoire.
“Who Is the Real Jodi Arias”?
Let’s hope and pray this jury gets it right!
