Katie and Carl Worden had used Facebook, offered a reward and posted flyers around town hoping someone would know where their dog Zeus was.

Others pitched in to help. The neighbor who had the security camera turned over the footage. Dog lovers and others rallied around the family. Klancey Cox who owns a pet training facility helped get the word out and offered the family support thoughout their ordeal.

Neighbors helped pass out flyers. East Texas SPCA, the Humane Spciety of East Texas and other animal welfare organizations sent out alerts. Strangers called to give advice and offer support.

This writer even set up a "Help find Zeus" Facebook Page. With the help of supporters, word was spread to pet rescue groups, dog lovers, breeders and breed clubs throughout the U.S.

"We were even afraid if we did get him back it wouldn't be alive." Katie says. But they never gave up hope. "Every person we called upon, whether it be Facebook friends in what ever way they just jumped in and used every resource," says Katie's mother Lisa Rhodes.

The neighbors security camera had captured video of people taking the dog from the Wordens backyard over a week ago. On Friday the family got a break when they received a tip by phone.

"The caller said they've seen him and pretty sure it was him. It wasn't the friendliest conversation on the phone. It was very intimidating. There was a meeting and they gave us back Zeus," Katie says. He was very dirty he hadn't been taken care of at all and hungry," she says.

The Wordens are not giving anymore details right now. They say they got Zeus back, and send their heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped.

They also noted that there is still an ongoing criminal investigation. See original story at :
