Zesty March meals and guests on 'The Chew'

ABC's entertaining daytime lifestyle show, "The Chew," features a zesty lineup of celebrity guests and ethnic meals during the week of March 11-15, 2013, according to a March 7, 2013, press release from ABC Television Network. Celebrity guests include Alan and Tanya Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Pati Jinich. The programming includes tasty dishes from Mexico and Ireland, skillet suppers and bacon dishes.

"The Chew" is a show about food, home entertaining, restaurants and trends. The show is co-hosted by lively celebrity chefs Mario Batali, Michael Symon, and Carla Hall;entertaining expert Clinton Kelly; and health and wellness enthusiast Daphne Oz.

The mid-March week warms up with the late winter holiday of St. Patrick's Day and potluck tips for the popular Irish holiday. Mexican chef, TV host and author Pati Jinich presents a Mexican Fiesta. The show also brings zesty bacon dishes and skillet suppers.

Monday, March 11: It's the Secret Life of Bacon on the first day of the week. "The Chew" welcomes Alan and Tanya Thicke, who are one of the celebrity couples on the reality TV hit "Celebrity Wife Swap." The Thickes join Clinton Kelly in creating a decadent and easy bacon entree to delight the tastebuds. Chef Michael Symon cooks up a bacon-themed dish of the day. Correspondent Jason Roberts visits Traif, a restaurant in Brooklyn that produces a pork lover's dream-bacon donuts!

Tuesday, March 12: It's a day devoted to easy, tasty Skillet Suppers. Actress Jennifer Love Hewitt ("The Client List") joins Chef Michael Symon in making the dish of the day, named Cast Iron Pork Chops. Clinton Kelly hosts his Food Frenzy game with audience members. Chefs Mario Batali and Carla Hall, make competing desserts to be judged by guests at the Tasting Table. Carla makes Carla's Chicken Pot Pie with Skillet Biscuits, while Mario makes Mario's Skillet Chicken with Charred Green Bean Salad and Tomatillo Vinaigrette.

Wednesday, March 13: Arriba, Arriba! It's a spicy Mexican fiesta when Chef Pati Jinich (author, Pati's Mexican Table), teams with Chef Mario Batali to show viewers how to make Aztec Chicken Casserole and a Spinning Top Drink. Clinton Kelly and Carla Hall whip up a zesty Stuffed Poblano with Green Chili Salsa with C&C Salsa Factory. "Chew" correspondent Evette Rios goes to Tortilleria Nixtamal in Queens, New York, and shows them making homemade tortillas and delicious authentic Mexican fare.

Thursday, March 14. It's a Big Dipper hour, with fondue, party snacks and everything in between to please a crowd. Chef Carla Hall demonstrates a Soft Serve with Dip Cone for dessert. Clinton Kelly schools viewers on how to dip with style while entertaining in his signature "Dear Fabby" segment.

Friday, March 15: The Potluck o'the Irish Edition is just in time for everbody's favorite Irish holiday, St. Patrick's Day. Sexy comedienne Jenny McCarthy ("The Jenny McCarthy Show"), an Irish lass, joins Chef Mario Batali to cook up a tasty Pork Shepherd's Pie that won't break the bank. They play a hilarious game, "Irish or Not Irish." Jenny and the co-hosts join Clinton Kelly in Clinton's Craft Corner, making Hand-Painted Glasses 3-Ways. Chef Michael Symon makes a delicious Irish Stout Stew to finish the hour.
