Zero Motorcycles reaches out with sales and rentals of electric motorcycles

Zero Motorcycles appeals to fleets.

Zero Motorcycles is now reaching out to municipalities, small businesses and fleets while making a strong case.

The gist is that municipalities could save a pretty penny and make their tax payers even happier in the long run if they switched to the electric drive.  Steps into center stage Zero Motorcycles who wants to appeal to this logic.

By making its electric motorcycles available to municipalities, small businesses and organizations, the company opens it up for sales and rentals to fleets.  This is a stroke of genius.  Rentals is probably the smartest way to show how efficient electric motorcycles are.  It makes even more sense for companies and fleets that worry about maintenance.  While for most, the switch to the electric drive is daunting.  It means they will need to recruit electric drive mechanics that have not formally trained yet.  And most important,  implement an electric drive department with the costs associated with it.

It makes sense for Zero Motorcycles to jump into this opportunity.

Here is the Press Release.

SANTA CRUZ, Calif., Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Zero Motorcycles announced today the launch of its fleet sales program. This program will provide the opportunity for corporate, non-profit, government and small business buyers to get professional sales support for multi-unit purchases to meet their motorcycle fleet requirements from Zero Motorcycles. Following its success in the consumer market, this program will mark the first time large volume purchases of Zero Motorcycles' entire line of products will be available to businesses and organizations for fleet and rental purposes. The fleet program will begin November 2, 2009 and pricing will be based on volume and support requirements.

"The fleet sales program will not only expand the availability of Zero Motorcycles' products beyond the consumer market, but it will also allow for groups to use Zero electric motorcycles for functions ranging from basic recreation to government security," said John Lloyd, VP of Worldwide Sales of Zero Motorcycles. "People in all industries will be able to experience the versatility of electric motorcycles and the reduction of fleet maintenance costs while supporting green initiatives."

Zero Motorcycles' fleet program is designed to propel businesses and organizations into the next generation of transportation technology while recognizing the importance of environmentally friendly practices. While clearly different from standard motorcycle fleets, Zero's all-electric motorcycles require less upkeep, reducing maintenance costs and allowing for more consistent operation. A Zero Motorcycles fleet also comes with powerful marketing and PR resources to help get coverage on the addition of green vehicles to the customer's fleet.

Already well-known within the motorcycle community for its innovative technology and high performance, the fleet sales program proves that there are far more uses for our Zero Motorcycles' product line than just street, track and off-road riding. Law enforcement agencies will benefit from the low noise level to better facilitate communications while riding, and zero emissions allows safe patrolling in public gatherings. Government agencies like the US Forest Service can appreciate the environmentally responsible technology behind the bike and the little disturbance caused for both campers and animals alike. Track owners and tour operators can benefit from a fleet as another revenue generator by renting them out to amateur riders or tourists looking to explore local areas. The adaptability of each product to its respective environment and the reliability of its engineering and performance make it an advantageous addition to any fleet.

Nick's first car recollection at 6 years old was the back of a Bugatti 37A. After having driven an AC Propulsion eBox, it was clear where the future of the automobile was, the electric drive.
