'Zero Hour' debuts on ABC with a conspiracy theory based on time

ABC premiered their new show “Zero Hour” on Thursday, Feb. 14.The show’s promos promised to “rewrite history” and it seems to be off to a good start.

In the opening minutes, we are witnessing events in 1938 Germany as Hitler and his Nazi regime are taking control. A group of religious zealots called Rosicrucians are trying to stop the Nazi threat. To that end, they are protecting some sort of secret artifact that must be kept out of Nazi hands. A group of clockmakers, twelve precisely, are commissioned to make twelve clocks, each of which will hide a clue to the location of the artifact. We also learn the Nazis have been able to create life without God’s help and are introduced to a baby with irises as white as snow.

Flash forward to Brooklyn today and meet Hank Galliston (Anthony Edwards), a publisher of the myth busting magazine Modern Skeptic and his wife who owns a clock shop. She purchases a mysterious clock from a street vendor and is almost instantly abducted by some after that clock.

Hank and his reporters discover a secret inside the clock, strange maps dating back hundreds of years. Hank heads to China to investigate the maps and the reporters head to Germany to interview the clock’s maker. Here’s where the conspiracy theory starts to take hold.

It seems the church appointed new apostles to safeguard their little secret. Each was given one of the clocks with only part of the secret inside. Why the bad guys are after it is anybody’s guess. What we do know is the leader is a man with irises as white as snow.

Hank is in for a surprise when he reaches his destination and finds a German submarine locked in the ice. Entering it, he finds its crew frozen in time, each having been assassinated. One man his is identical twin in a German officer’s uniform and holding the emblem of the Rosicrucians.

Will Hank be able to get his wife back? What are the Rosicrucians protecting? Tune in next week to find out5 more about this conspiracy theory-based series based on time when “Zero Hour” returns.
