'Zero Hour' canceled: ABC pulls new show after lowest-rated season premiere

Zero Hour” canceled is making headlines today, as the CS Monitor reported that the new drama “Zero Hour” — which stars Anthony Edwards of “ER” fame — has been canceled from ABC after airing only three full episodes.

“Zero Hour” was a new TV show that followed Anthony Edwards as he played Hank Galliston, a paranormal magazine publisher, who now must save his wife after she is suddenly kidnapped in a big case surrounding a historical conspiracy. The new drama had its season premiere this Feb. 14, 2013, and only aired three episodes before its cut.

Its premiere was seen by just over 6 million viewers, the lowest-rated ABC premiere during the TV season for any scripted show ever. It continued to fall in viewership during its next episodes. “Zero Hour” has since been pulled, while reviews for the drama were mixed, with some praising its mystery premise and potential, while others seeing it as repetitive and “less than engaging,” said the report.

An ABC official revealed this weekend that the network hasn’t yet decided when the unseen episodes of “Zero Hour” are set to air. The summer, however, seems like a likely time.
