Today, Atlus has let its Faithful know that Zeno Clash 2, the sequel to ACE Team's award winning first-person brawler gets several new screenshots. Still few details about Zeno Clash 2 are known at this time, however it is confirmed to be hitting Playstation Network, Xbox LIVE, and Steam early this year.
That isn't all the good news, however. The original game has been selected as the deal of the week for Xbox LIVE Arcade. What does this mean? It means that for this week only, the game gets a whopping 50 percent discount, dropping it down to 800 MSP.
Those who have never played either game may be wondering what the story behind the Zeno Clash games is. The first Zeno Clash took place in the world of Zenozoik. In the city of Halstedom, a powerful clan ruled, and one man, named Ghat, committed a horrible sin, betraying this clan. This has lead to Ghat's own brothers and sisters chasing him and his companion, Daedra, through the strange and twisted lands of Zenozoik that go beyond the boundaries of the sane to the very ends of the world. But what, exactly was Ghat's sin? Why did he commit it? To discover the answer, you'll have to be swept up in the bare-knuckled fight for the truth.
The first game received at least two awards and was a finalist for a two more. The two it won were to be named PC Gamer's 2009's Independent Game of the Year and IGN's April 2009's PC Game of the Month. Zeno Clash was also a finalist for the Independent Game Festival's category of Excellence in Visual Art, as well as the Tenth Annual Game Developer's Choice Best Debut award.
With such a history behind the first game, ACE Team has a bit to live up to. Can they improve on the flaws reviewers pointed out in the first game? Will the visuals be as captivating as its predecessor? Only time will tell, but from the screenshots released today, it seems that, at the very least, Zeno Clash 2 will rival its predecessor in terms of visuals.
