Zenescope unleashes the monsters on its Grimm Universe (Photos)

Philadelphia based comic book publisher, Zenescope Entertainment, is unleashing classic monsters upon its popular Grimm Fairy Tales Universe. The major event begins in April 2013.

"Unleashed" will see the incorporation of vampires, werewolves, zombies and demons into the company's world of reimagined fairy tales characters, including Alice in Wonderland, Jungle Book and Robyn Hood. These classic horror monsters will be released upon Earth by a mysterious new villain and it will be up to GFT mainstay, Sela Mathers, and a group of monster hunters to get them back in check.

Unleashed is a seven issue mini-series released in conjunction with 5 mini-series, each delving into a different aspect of the new monsters. The Eternal follows the vampires, The Unseen depicts the demons, The Hunger chronicles the werewolves and The Cursed covers the zombies. The Hunters: Shadowlands provides background on the team of monster hunters, including a female Van Helsing and Elijah, a 19th century freed slave who hunts zombies.

The "Unleashed" series are available for pre-order beginning in February. For more information, head over to Zenescope's blog. To find a comic book store near you, go to www.comicshoplocator.com.
