Nintendo has revealed that Mario Kart 8 will receive two downloadable content packs over the course of the next several months. According to a product page listing on the official Nintendo website from Aug. 26 , the first Mario Kart 8 add-on content pack will be released for Wii U in Nov. of this year. The first content pack will add The Legend of Zelda’s Link and two additional characters to the official roster.

Officially titled as The Legend of Zelda X Mario Kart 8 Add-on Content Pack, the first pack will add Link, Cat Peach, and Tanooki Mario to the Mario Kart 8 character roster. In addition to these three new characters, the DLC shall also four new vehicles, including the Blue Falcon kart representing F-Zero, and two new cups – totaling eight brand new tracks. The Legend of Zelda X Mario Kart 8 DLC will be released in Nov. 2014 for $7.99.

Pack 2, the Animal Crossing X Mario Kart 8 Add-on Content Pack, will be released in May 2015. This DLC package will add Animal Crossing’s main character the Villager, Isabella from Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and Dry Bowser to the character roster. It will also come with four new vehicles, two new cups and eight tracks.

Each DLC pack will feature a blend of classic courses like Wario’s Gold Mine from Mario Kart Wii, as well as new courses that take place in worlds from The Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing, F-Zero, and Excitebike.

Each Add On Content pack will contain two new cups, each with four courses, which, in total, increases the number of available courses by 50 percent. The Add On Content packs include classics like Wario’s Gold Mine from Mario Kart Wii, as well as new courses, some taking place in the worlds of The Legend of Zelda and Animal Crossing. New vehicles will also arrive with each pack, including the Blue Falcon kart representing the F-Zero franchise in the first AOC pack.

If you buy both packs – either as a bundle or separately – you will get eight different colored Yoshis and eight different Shy Guys for use in the game. Mario Kart 8 owners who purchase both packs starting tomorrow - Aug. 27 - will get access to the eight new colors of Yoshi and the Shy Guy to race with immediately. You may purchase the packs in advance by visiting the “Shop” icon in the game or on the Nintendo eShop on Wii U.
