Canadian electronic music duo Zeds Dead, aka DC and Hooks, announced yesterday that they would be offering fans worldwide a free download of their track "Rachet." This gift to fans was made to commemorate a social media milestone for Zeds Dead -- reaching 400,000 fans on Facebook on March 1. Since then, the duo have garnered nearly 6,000 additional fans.
"Rachet" is one of Zeds Dead's most popular tracks from their recent live shows. The track is a bootleg of the Juicy J classic "Bandz A Make Her Dance." The free download of "Rachet" is available via the duo's Facebook page here.
Facebook was not the only milestone for Zeds Dead this past weekend. On March 3, the duo broadcast their first ever Essential Mix on the world-renowned BBC Radio 1. The full, two-hour mix show is available for free via stream to fans on the BBC iPlayer here.
The Toronto-based duo began producing music together in 2004 but it wasn't until 2009 that they assumed the moniker of Zeds Dead. They released their ninth EP "Hot Sauce" in January from record label Mad Decent. Zeds Dead kicked off a new 32-date world tour on March 2.
