One Direction's Zayn Malik has said that if it wasn't for his fellow band mates, he probably would've given up on fame and showbiz by now because he wouldn't be able to handle all the pressure as a solo artist. The 1D star spoke about it in a new interview with The Sunday Life released on March 10.
"[The best thing about being in a band is] The other four lads. I’ve got four very good mates and that’s cool," he said. "We all keep each other down to earth and there’s defo no way I could have done this as a solo artist."
"I would have cracked up and given it all up and gone home by now," he continued. "The lads keep me grounded and it’s good to know you’re not the only person going through everything. We’re sharing every experience."
It's always nice to see how much the One Direction boys care for each other.
Meanwhile, Zayn also spoke out against claims that he's the most vain member of the popular band insisting that he just cares about his looks and it's all part of the image of being in a boy band.
"I get the brunt of the mickey taking when it comes to being vain," Zayn told Sunday Life. "I get made out to be the worst member of the group but the truth is we’re in a boy band so you have to be a little vain to keep yourself looking smart."
Nothing wrong with that. But he did admit that he takes a bit more care of himself than necessary at times, but he doesn't think that's a bad habit.
“Maybe I look in the mirror a bit too frequently, but that’s because I care what I look like. But I really don’t think I’m massively vain. I am probably around a six or seven vanity-wise."
Taking a little more time to take care of yourself is never a bad thing. It pays off for Zayn who is considered one of the hottest teen idols in the world. Zayn was voted the Hottest Guy of 2012 in Hit Zone's Hit Lists back in December.
