One Direction star Zayn Malik is engaged to the love of his life Perrie Edwards, but the singer is pining away for another love, according to a Dec. 27 Daily Mail report. The singer is determined to reunite his fiancee’s favorite rockers, Journey to play at the couple’s wedding.
Malik and Edwards are slated to wed next year, and sources tell the media that the young musician is determined to dance to “Don’t Stop Believin’” live on their wedding day. Malik may just get his wish.
The Daily Mirror reports that the band’s newly-wed guitarist Neal Schon has shown interest, and may be persuaded to perform for the night. Recluse and lead singer Steve Perry is a whole other matter.
“Zayn is hopeful Journey will be there in some guise. Neal has made it clear through his channels he is up for it. He has his touring band who can play. But he knows Steve was the voice of that hit record, and no one on earth really sounds like him,” one source spilled to The Sun. “If Steve and Neal were to reunite, it would be a massive affair and a payday. It’s a feat but Zayn’s reach across the music industry is huge.”
