10-year-old Zahra Baker, a native of Australia, moved to North Carolina in 2008, along with her father Adam Baker. Zahra's father met Elisa Baker, who hails from North Carolina online, the two married and moved to Hickory North Carolina.
Now Zahra Baker is missing and investigators believe she is the victim of homicide, after police dogs found the scent of decomposition in vehicles belonging to the father and stepmom of Zahra.
Zahra was reported missing by her father Adam Baker, October 9th, in the afternoon.
Zahra was a bone cancer survivor and sadly had to have her leg amputated. Her prosthetic leg was discovered last week in a bushy area, off a road in Caldwell County North Carolina.
Now Hickory police have confirmed that the prosthetic leg is infact that of Zahra Baker. Also last week, police had found the mattress that belonged to Zahra. The mattress was disposed of in a landfill by her father and stepmom days before Zahra was reported missing. That matress contains DNA on it according to investigators.
Meanwhile, in other breaking news: Elisa Baker has been indicted by a Catawba County Grand Jury. The 42-year-old stepmom of Zahra was indicted on one count of felony obstructing justice. The indictment states that Elisa: "unlawfully, willfully and feloniously did with deceit and intent to defraud a police investigation, obstruct justice by constructing and placing a false ransom letter and reporting an abduction of her stepdaughter, Zahra Baker.”
The ransom note was found in a vehicle on the Baker property, and was directed towards to the boss of Adam Baker. The author, threatened to abduct his daughter. Elisa Baker has confessed to writing the ransom note, and is currently in jail. Investigators believe Elisa Baker wrote the ransom note to thwart the investigation and try to make the police believe a stranger abducted Zahra.
Investigators are back at the home of the Baker's, specifically in the bedroom that belonged to the missing child. Investigators were ripping out sheetrock and drywall and were taking furniture from the room.
Suspicion has been swiriling around the father and stepmother of Zahra. Elisa Baker has been accused of beating Zahra Baker, she has been described as a pathological liar and is known to fake illnesses to get sympathy. Since she confessed to writing the bogus ransom note it is obvious that she plays some roll in whatever happened to Zahra. According to police, she and her lawyer have been cooperating with police.
Zahra's father Adam Baker was caught in an inconsistency. When he reported his daughter missing, he had stated that he seen her at 2 AM that morning, asleep in her bedroom, but in an interview with ABC's "Good Morning America", Baker claimed that he had not seen his daughter since Thursday.
Adam Baker was arrested and charged with a host of crimes, the most serious: assault with a deadly weapon. He has since bonded out of jail and has been released. If the charges are true, it would mean that he is a very violent man, capable of violence. Many people have also wondered why he would allow his wife to abuse his daughter, like many people close to the family claim.

I think the only thing I could think.. At that is , the father and evil step mother are both guilty. How they could treat a child like this is beyond me. Getting cancer and going through kemo and radiation wasn't enough for her.. They had to beat her on top of it and now kill her. I pray now that they both get the death penalty, because I believe they truly deserve that!
