Warner Bros. and DC Comics are full steam ahead on shooting the tentatively titled "Batman vs. Superman", but outside of casting, very little is known about the look of the production. On Tuesday, May 13, director Zack Snyder offered the first peak at the newly designed Batmobile, as well as the first glimpse of Ben Affleck in the bat suit. The picture was taken by Snyder on the set, and released on Twitter, sending fans into a tizzy.
The new Batmobile looks like it takes a few cues from previous incarnations of the Caped Crusader's main mode of transportation, including both Nolan's functional tumbler and Burton's more sexy and slick design. But what could be the bigger surprise is the reveal of a bulked up Batman brooding next to his ride. The updated version of the suit gets away from the typical black suit that had pretty much been used since the Burton films in favor of a grey that is more in line with some of the comics and graphic novels.
"Batman vs. Superman" will return Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, and Laurence Fishburne as Perry White. Joining the cast are Gale Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Victor Stone/Cyborg, and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.
The DC dynamic duo will hit theatres on May 6, 2016, possibly with a new title.
