File this under unlikeliest news story of the week.

Friday morning, the CBS Detroit team were going back and forth, joking about how Aquaman would fit into "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” when they got a special caller—the director of the film, Zack Snyder.

Confirmed through /Film, the director called to defend the king of Atlantis. Snyder explained that Aquaman has “the potential to be bad ass.”

Although the director sprung to defend the aquatic hero, he would not confirm if he were indeed in the actual film, making this disclaimer in his defense, “not to say he’s in my movie or anything.”

It is believed Jason Momoa will play Aquaman, however, he has yet to confirm his role.

Aquaman is easily one of the easiest heroes to pick on. Both Robot Chicken and Family Guy have taken shots at the hero multiple times.

The hero has gained some traction recently with DC’s New 52, Geoff Johns’ run revitalized the character and reintroduced him to audiences.

Aquaman is also the center of DC animated’s feature film “Justice League: Throne of Atlantis,” which is set for release early 2015.

Now whether Snyder will use Aquaman’s “bad ass” potential in his film remains to be seen—we will all have to wait for March 25, 2016 when “Batman v Superman” flies into theaters.
