Zach Galifianakis the new face of Twinkies? (Video)

Hostess Brands struck a $410 million deal on Tuesday to sell their snack cakes brands to Apollo Global Management and Metropoulos & Company, ensuring that Twinkies will live on. So will Ho Hos, Ding Dongs, Sno Balls and Dolly Madison Zingers. And with new ownership comes changes. The New York Times reported yesterday that Hostess is looking to bring in comedians such as Zach Galifianakis as spokesperson.

The new owners clearly want a new image for the company and said social media, such as Twitter, are expected to play a substantial role. Galifianakis, the famous “Hangover” star, is one of the many famous faces included in the list of who may be in line to be the future Twinkies spokesperson.

So who else made the list? Will Ferrell’s name has been thrown around, as well as the cast of A&E’s television series “Duck Dynasty.” Evan Metropoulos, part of a team that is buying Hostess Brands, told The Wall Street Journal; “We have a million A-list celebrities and athletes and so forth that are dying to be associated with the Hostess brands like Twinkies. We are going to be pulling out a couple fabulous names.” We hope so.
