Zac Efron has done a lot lately to help shed his “High School Musical” image to be taken seriously as an actor, with his most recent work being Lee Daniels’ “The Paperboy,” and he isn't stopping yet.
Heat Vision learned yesterday that he has signed on to “The Falling,” a supernatural thriller centering around an otherworldly being.
He is teaming up with producer Akiva Goldman (“I Am Legend”), and the role is being written for him specifically.
While not much is known about the plot at this point Warner Bros. is putting this on the fast track to capitalize on the interest in otherworldly activity (like “Paranormal Activity” and “Insidious”).
They are in search of a writer now with hopes of a late fall start date on production.
Zac Efron is growing on me as an actor, and I can almost take him seriously, so I think this will be a great next step for him.
