The new “Star Wars” films are in the process of casting and rumors continue emerge about who will get the coveted roles. The latest from Wetpaint on Feb. 2 is that Zac Efron is in talks for a role in the movie.
Efron has himself confirmed that he is talking to the powers that be about a role in the upcoming “Star Wars” sequel. The next movie will make number 7 in the franchise.
Here’s what Efron had to say on the subject:
"Yeah, I just went and met with [the Star Wars people]. So I don't know. It would be cool. I love [the Star Wars movies]. I love them, but … who knows?"
“That Awkward Moment” is Efron’s latest film. Fans may remember him as Troy from the “High School Musical” movie series. He also starred in an adaption of Nicholas Sparks’s book, “The Lucky One” and shared a role with Matthew Perry in “17 Again.” Next up for Zac is “Neighbors” a comedy due out in May.
Other actors currently in talks for the “Star Wars” flick include Dame Judi Dench, “Friday Night Lights” and “Breaking Bad” star Jesse Plemons, and “Girls” star Adam Driver.
