Zac Efron recently showed off his six month sobriety chip at a Los Angeles Lakers basketball game, according to a Dec. 29 Us Weekly report. The actor, who secretly entered and completed a rehab stay earlier this year wore a blue Alcoholics Anonymous sobriety chip around his neck while cheering on his team.
According to Huffington Post UK, Efron’s rehab stay that he managed to keep out of the spotlight for at least five months was for a cocaine addiction. While the actor has stayed off the record on the details of his addiction, he did thank his supportive fans on Instagram after the rehab news became public in September.
The former "High School Musical" star has yet to go on record about his addiction issues, but he made sure to thank fans for their support in his first Instagram post after news of his rehab stays in became public knowledge back in September. He posted a photo of himself captioned, “Hey guys! Just returned from an incredible trip to Peru with my dad and wanted to thank you all for your support these past few weeks...means the world to me. Love you guys! - Z.”
The 26-year-old can be seen next on the big screen in “That Awkward Moment,” which hits theaters on Dec. 31.
